On March 11 Beijing time, according to renowned reporter Shams, Philadelphia 76ers star guard Tyrese Maxey has been diagnosed with a tendon injury in his right little finger and will be reevaluated after three weeks.

This All-Star starter was injured during Sunday's away loss to the Hawks; with 16 seconds left before the final buzzer, he collided with teammate Bonna and sustained the injury. Maxey immediately covered his right hand, hid it under his jersey, and went straight back to the locker room. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse previously stated that Maxey had undergone X-ray and MRI examinations, with no fractures found in his hand, but he would "consult with hand specialists to determine the next steps."
According to sources, Maxey subsequently underwent further imaging tests and specialist evaluations, ultimately confirming the tendon injury. Maxey had previously sprained the same little finger last season. This season, he has played 61 games for the 76ers, averaging career-high stats: 29 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 2 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.
Before Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, the 76ers, with a record of 33 wins and 28 losses, ranked 8th in the Eastern Conference, having lost 4 of their last 5 games.
With Maxey playing, the 76ers' record is 33 wins and 28 losses;
Without Maxey, the team has only 1 win and 2 losses.
He is also the only player in the league this season to achieve both 100+ steals and 50+ blocks.
The NBA regular season concludes on April 13. If Maxey misses all remaining regular-season games, he will be 4 games short of meeting the appearance threshold for annual award eligibility.
For this game against the Grizzlies, two other 76ers players are also absent:
Joel Embiid (right oblique muscle strain) — will miss his 5th consecutive game; Nurse said he will be reevaluated later this week
Paul George (league suspension) — suspended for 25 games due to violation of the NBA's anti-drug policy, still needs several weeks to return
Over the past two seasons, Embiid, George, and Maxey have played together in only 31 games when all three were healthy. Maxey currently leads the league in both average playing time and average distance covered per game. His average of 29 points per game ranks 4th in the league and is the highest average scoring by a 76ers guard since Allen Iverson in the 2005-06 season.
