Ho Chi Minh City Police Club has three players selected for Vietnam national team, featuring Patrik Lê Giang's debut.
Ho Chi Minh City Police Club confirms three players summoned to Vietnam national team for the upcoming training camp, including forwards Nguyễn Tiến Linh and Đinh Thanh Bình, and goalkeeper Lê Giang Patrik. The inclusion of this trio provides the club with notable contributions to the national squad.
Among them, goalkeeper Lê Giang Patrik's case attracts significant attention. This Vietnamese-born goalkeeper officially obtained Vietnamese citizenship on January 28 after over three years living and playing in Vietnam. Completing the naturalization process enables him to qualify for the national team jersey, while also expanding options for the goalkeeper position.
Besides the three players from Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, other V-League clubs have also announced names joining Vietnam national team. Nam Định Club confirms two summoned players: forward Nguyễn Xuân Son and defender Nguyễn Văn Vĩ.
Meanwhile, Hanoi Police Club contributes up to eight players including Filip Nguyễn, Lê Phạm Thành Long, Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, Quang Anh, Jason Pendant Quang Vinh, Lê Văn Đô, along with two notable returning faces: Trần Đình Trọng and Đoàn Văn Hậu.
According to plan, Vietnam national team will assemble from March 21 to March 31. This training camp falls within FIFA Days schedule, allowing the coaching staff time to assess the squad and refine tactical plans.
During the camp, coach Kim Sang-sik's team will have a friendly match against Bangladesh national team on March 26 at Hàng Đẫy Stadium. Subsequently, Vietnam national team will face Malaysia on March 31 at Thiên Trường Stadium. Likely in the near future, other clubs will continue announcing additional players summoned to the national team.
